Built for one family. Opened, carefully, to a few more.

Waverley Private Asset Partners was established in 2009 as the dedicated office of a single family. Since 2014 it has served other families as well. Today the office advises more than twenty families and foundations on roughly £1.3 billion of assets, at 31 December 2025, from one office in London.

Our story

An office other families asked to join.

By the late 2000s our founding family's interests had grown across several countries, advisers and structures. Coordination itself had become the risk: decisions were slow, oversight was fragmented, and no single party held the whole picture. Waverley was created in 2009 to be that party, a small permanent team with the mandate to see everything and coordinate all of it.

The model worked, and it was noticed. Advisers who dealt with the office began introducing other families with the same problem: capable people around them, and nobody holding the whole. In 2014, with the founding family's agreement, we became a multi-family office, took authorisation from the Financial Conduct Authority, and accepted our first external clients.

Growth since then has been deliberate. We add a few families a year at most, each by introduction or direct approach, and only when we are confident the office can serve them properly. The founding family remains a client, on the same terms as every other.

Milestones

Seventeen years, briefly.

Established in London as the dedicated office of one family, covering investment, structuring, compliance and administration.

2014Opened

Became a multi-family office. Authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority; first external families joined by introduction.

2017Private capital

First direct co-investment completed alongside client families, the start of a programme that continues today.

2021Twenty-five families

The fifteenth family joined the office. The philanthropy practice was formalised as a discipline in its own right.

Assets under advice reached roughly £1.3 billion at year end, for more than twenty families and foundations.

Purpose

To preserve and grow our families' capital across generations, and to keep the structures that hold it sound, compliant and understood.

Mandate

Investment, structuring, governance, compliance and administration, held together under one office and to one standard of care, for every family we serve.

Accountability

To our families and their trustees. Waverley is owned by its partners, sells no products and answers to no outside shareholder.

What we believe

A few convictions, applied without exception.

01Stewardship over ownership

The current generation holds the capital in trust for the next. That framing changes every decision, from how much risk is reasonable to how a family talks about money at home.

02Structure is not paperwork

Trusts and entities are living arrangements that must stay coherent with a family's intentions and the law. We treat their upkeep as a core discipline, not an annual formality.

03Compliance is protection

Sanctions screening, beneficial-ownership checks and registry obligations exist to protect our families, not to burden them. Done well, they are quiet and rarely noticed.

04Few families, known well

A deliberately short client list keeps knowledge concentrated and decisions personal. We grow by one family at a time, and only when we can serve it properly.
