The people who hold our families' affairs.

Waverley is a firm of around twenty, led by the senior team below. Most joined from private banking, investment management, private-client law and compliance, and have worked together for years. Every family knows exactly who is responsible for its affairs, and that person is never far from the work.

Leadership

Alex Beale

Managing Partner

Alex leads the firm, chairs the investment committee and acts as lead partner for several client families. Before helping to establish Waverley in 2009, Alex spent more than two decades in private banking and discretionary investment management, latterly leading a team that advised international families on complex, cross-border wealth.

Alex led the office's opening to external families in 2014 and has held the same view since: growth is only worth having at the pace the standard of care can follow. Every new family the firm takes on is approved by Alex personally.

Investment

Adam Jeffrey

Chief Investment Officer

Adam owns the investment process end to end, from each family's policy and allocation through manager selection to the risk framework. A former multi-asset portfolio manager, Adam previously ran institutional mandates across public and private markets.

The discipline at Waverley is running many policies rather than one: each family's mandate is managed to its own written bands and liquidity, while the office's research and committee process stays common to all. Adam also leads due diligence for the private capital programme.

Structuring & Succession

Adam Battagello

Partner, Wealth Structuring & Succession

Adam keeps our families' trust and holding structures coherent with their intentions and the law, and coordinates the external tax and legal counsel that support them across jurisdictions. Adam trained and practised as a private-client lawyer before moving in-house.

Much of the work is long-range: mapping successions well before they are needed, maintaining each family's single current record of who owns and controls what, and running the annual reviews that catch drift before it becomes a problem.

Risk & Compliance

Aarane Mohan

Director, Risk & Compliance

Aarane holds the firm's compliance function under the Senior Managers and Certification Regime and is its money laundering reporting officer. The remit covers client due diligence, sanctions and beneficial-ownership screening, registry obligations and the decision log that sits behind them.

The aim is protection without theatre: routine matters clear quickly, genuine questions reach a person, and low-confidence cases are never declined by a machine. In a regulated multi-family office, that discipline protects the families as much as the firm.

Client Service & Operations

Abbey Clark

Head of Client Service & Operations

Abbey leads the client service team that runs the office's day-to-day relationship with each family: reporting cycles, onboarding, document management and the governance calendar, delivered by a named service manager per family.

The work lives in the details that hold an office together: papers ready before a meeting, deadlines met, records where they should be. Abbey makes sure none of it slips, for any family.

On our size

Small enough that no family ever has to explain itself twice.

Where specialist depth is needed, in legal, tax, audit or custody, we bring in trusted external firms and hold the coordination ourselves. The knowledge of each family stays inside the office, with named people.
